Blog#1: Do you know a date?(Kanae)

I would like to introduce a date. A date is "Natsumeyashi" in Japanese. It is grown mainly in the Middle East and North Africa. And it is used in various ways. For example it's fruit is not only eaten fresh but also processed into jam, juice, and the like, it's seed is a feed of a camel and so on. Also it's wood was used as building materials in ancient times. A house of the prophet Muhammad in Medina was built of date's woods too.

Look at this picture. These are date's fruit.

I got these dates from a teacher of Arabic intermediate class. These are delicious. If you were interestend in a date, please go to this site. Here you can buy all kinds of dates and know about a date in more detail.
