Blog#2/:sasamaki (Tomoka)

Reacentry, I ate sasamaki.

Every year in May , my grandaunt who live in Yamagata Prefecture sends us "sasamaki".  My family and I also look forward to her sasamaki every year. Sasamaki  is a traditional food in Yamagata, which is made by steaming sticky rice wrapped with bamboo leaves to the triangular shape. The bamboo leaf has antiseptic effect. Sasamaki has been eaten as apreservative food since old days. When we eat it, peal away bamboo leaves from the steamed sticky rice, then coat eutirely in mixfure of egual parts of green soybean powder and black suger.

It is so yummy. I love it very much from childhood.

  1. Hi. I'm Mamiko. I love sasamaki too! But I don't eat that recently. And your sasamaki is made by your grandaunt every year. That sounds great! I want to be able to make sasamaki by myself someday.

  3. This is Ms. MacGregor. What other kinds of sweets do you like? I am not much fond of Japanese sweets, though I like sweet senbei and Nambu senbei, especially when you make a sandwich of 2 senbei with mizuan in the middle. Very sweet, but delicious!
You need to fix you blog - so many spelling and spacing mistakes. Please fix at once!
