I went to The National Art Center where is in Roppingi. There has some kinds which many works are displayed, for example, Japanese-style painting, calligraphy…etc. They were collected from many kinds of places where are regardless of internal or foreign.
This museum's site is here. And it's picture. ↓
I have been to there twice.
First, 『400 years of European Masterpieces from the State Hermitage Museum』.I went to this in July last year. The features of the exhibit are possessed by Hermitage which is the national museum of Russia in Saint Petersburg. There were many works of many famous painter, for example, Leonardo da vinci, Rembrandt...etc. I liked 《Port of Marseilles》 painted by Paul Signac. How to paint this was pointillism. This skill has many small dots whose colors are different one another. I felt it very beautiful because many dots have pastel and clear color gathered. Therefore, I chose it as the subject of the report which was a homework of summer vacation in last year.
Second,『Masterworks from the Collections of the prince of Liechtenstein』. I went to this in November last year. The features of the exhibit were Weastern art collections which the marquis of Liechtenstein who was the chief of state collected. The number of them was 139. I hearded that the first exhibition of them in Japan. There were many pictures painted by famous painters, for example, Raffaellp, Rembrandt, Rubens,... etc. I was fascinated with a dessing table which carved with complicated relief and brilliant ornaments.
The National Art Center opened in 2007 so the inside of it is very beautiful. It has big windows so gets a lot of sunshine and a beautiful landscape of surroundings. Thw outside of it seems modern. We can go there easily because it is directly connected with Nogizaka Station. And we can enjoy not only in it but also near commercial area, for example, Tokyo Midtown and Roppongi Hills.
I recommend you to go there because there holds many exhibitions worthy of watching and has many kinds of exhibitions so they are interesting.

Hi Natsumi,
ReplyDeleteThis is Ms. MacGregor. I have been there too. I like it because it is spacious. The walls are very tall!
As you said the access is very good as we can get there from several subway stations. However, I am not used to Roppongi area so it is confusing for me to go there.
